breeding for hidden abilities

Post by dedoombringer » Thu Jun 16, 2016 2:33 pm

Ok I've been collecting keckleon with Protean ability and I've read that you need a female to pass the hidden ability on which I have. I've also read that a make has a small chance to pass the ability on aswell. If I beef these two together does it always pass on the protean ability to their kids? What if I bred them to a female froggy, could I get a protean froggy? I'm just now trying to pick up on this whole breeding thing and I've read way to many contracting things.

You don't have 100% chance to pass down a HA, even if both parents have it.

The best you have is 80% with the female passing down it's HA, with it's partner having no effect on the ability.

The male alone with the HA only does 20%.

Abilities passing down only occurs within the same species, you need to find that pokemon with the HA first. There is no way to breed a HA with pokemon who don't have it.
