I'm not going to ruin your day, but he was VERY evil during season 1.
It wasn't the best way to introduce my favorite card into the show... :(

I completely understand, as someone else who quite likes the Stardust Dragon(s). Particularly the roar in the anime, always reminds me of a freight train rolling through at high speed which I think is DAMN good....

On Jack: That adds to his character though... it makes him more realistic; after all (most) people do ultimately look out for themselves before others. Think about why did those things:
(to escape Satellite, become Champion)
A lot of people would do the same thing. Also it set up the rest of the plot line quite well.
I also thought the shared background Jack and Yusei had added to their battles...after all they went through together, they still ended up as best friends and each other's greatest rivals. I like Jack because of this duality, and because he is independently strong from Yusei and the others in Team 5D's. The other things (his appearance, the voice acting, his quotes) are important but secondary. When he first appeared I thought he was just going to be a Kaiba clone, I'm pleased the writers made him become more than that.

That doesn't mean I don't have to hate him.

Best character in the serious is the egyptian guy who becomes dark magician, without his sacrifice we wouldn't have Dark Paladin.
You want to talk main heros it is simple King of Games

No it doesn't . But at least I have a better reason for appreciating his character, rather than disliking him because "he stole my favourite card". But each to their own. Lighten up!

Original - Tristan
GX - Chumley
5D's - Luna
Zexal - never seen it

Chumley is the best character overall.

Srry if im late but yugi was the best character for this reason alone. He used Dark Magician. End of discussion.
