"... the greatest magician in all of duel monsters... the Magician of Black Chaos!"
-Yugi Moto

(staples are bolded)
Monsters: 20
1x Magician of Black Chaos
2x Dark Eradicator Warlock
3x Dark Magician
2x Dark Magician Girl
3x Skilled Dark Magician
2x Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
1x Ritual Raven
1x Defender, The Magical Knight
2x Breaker, the Magical Warrior
2x Magical Exemplar
1x Sangan

Magics: 18 (staples are bolded)
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Heavy Storm
3x Smashing Ground

1x Dark Magic Attack
1x Diffusion-Wave Motion
3x Magical Dimension
1x Black Magic Ritual
1x Dark Magic Curtain
1x Sage's Stone
1x Brain Control
1x Lightning Vortex
2x Secret Village of the Spellcasters
1x Fulfillment of the Contract

Traps: 4
1x Call Of The Haunted
3x Royal Decree

Total: 42

This is basically a lock-down/burn deck. It has some elements to bring our Magician of Black Chaos as well as a huge arsenal of spells to give me spell counters (making it easier to summon my Dark Magician), burn my opponent's life points with Eradicator and bring some havoc on the field. Yes I know I only have 4 traps, but with the direction I'm aiming towards that is all I need.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Changes:
-3 Spell Power Grasp
+3 Magical Dimension

Add 3 Magical dimensions and terraforming.

Thats as much as I can help, I leave the rest to canasian xD

Magical dimension can be used as a counter to spells like smashing ground and it lets you special summon dark magicians fast.

Oh and also add some good traps like dimensional prison, dark bribe, and decrease the number of cards to 40.

Thanks Night_Assasin, I like the Magical Dimension.

Oh I don't need any more than 2 types of traps for this deck, I want to lock down everyone's traps with Royal Decree so it isn't a good idea for me to be more dependent on my own trap cards.

And hey, here I am to help!

Magician of Black Chaos=bad.

If you want to do a Dark Magician deck, read this. You can make a decent deck around Dark Magician. There are better spellcaster decks, but he's got support that makes him kinda playable. This deck is unfortunately going in too many different directions to work.

If you want to stick with a Ritual theme, there are better options for Ritual monsters. Some you can even use within the spellcaster realm. Read about them here.

I'm sorry, but if your wasting so many resources on a ritual summon, you really want to get more out of it than a beatstick. THat's all Magician of Black Chaos is. On the other hand, something like Divine Grace - Northwemko has slightly less attack power, but has an awesome effect to protect herself. Herald of Perfection is run over by several commonly used level 4 monsters but it's effect can create a nearly unbreakable lockdown in the right deck. These are things you need to consider when building a deck around a card.

Also, Royal Decree is never a good idea. You're better off with a real trap lineup.

Thanks Canasian!

I forgot to mention this actually, but I'm trying to make a completely (or at least I think) new deck, I want a good balance of ritual and dark magician so basically, this deck itself is a challenge to make but I really want to go through with this deck.

So for now only these aspects of the deck stays:
-Magician of Black Chaos
-Low Trap Card count

Unless I get some more opinions that this deck has no glimmer of hope, then I will decide on something else.

I know I may sound stubborn (probably am) but I enjoy the challenge of making this type of deck.

This is barely a lockdown-burn deck.

If you insist of using MBC, it'll be a mesh of beatdown ritual, a little burn and mediocre lock.

Still, you have my respect on trying for originality.

If you insist of using MBC, I suggest using Non-Spellcasting Area. Give your Magician immunity from spell, no?

Well, I understand you want to add the magician because its cool and all, I dont blame you, ive had these temptations with rituals too, lol. But if I were you I would listen to these people, I mean, do you see the number of post they've done???? lol xD

I understand, and even agree that this deck lacks focus and still needs ALOT of work.

MOBC is my 2nd favorite card (1st is BEWD), I want to make a deck that some hows, miraculously puts him to good use.

At the end of the day, the deck I like using best is the one that I put a lot of work in (like my blue eyes "disaster" deck).

Thanks for all your help guys, once I complete this deck and it does well, I'll post it back here for some minor adjustments if you allow!

Lol its fine to me, my type of fun is actually building the deck (took me a few week to make my blue eyes deck), the greatest fun out of a duel I get is not winning (though it helps alot) but being formidable with the old school with new twists deck.

Hehe, so yeah, I was horrible playing, then I read these guides, became better, the key to become good is learning outside the rulebook.

Magician of black chaos is that crappy beater ritual monster, right?
If so, try a different ritual card/ different spellcasters.
For rituals these ones are the best:
Herald of perfection (Making a deck around him is hella 'spensive though)
Demise (Semi limited, but still good.)
Relinquished (Not as good as the others, but still good when used right plus you get to act like pegasus!)

For spellcasters you can try:
Secret village lockdown (Can be deadly.)
Gravekeepers (Can also be deadly)
Dark magician (For pure nostalgia, by no means is this competitive in the least bit. I just figured this might be a way to turn if you were quoting atem / yugi.)
