-1 Guard, +1 Necrovalley

Always run 3 Necrovalley. That is the main card of the deck.

-2 guard (need the space for other stuff)
-1 sangan (you have recruiter so he isn't rly needed)

+2 reaper (soooooo good this format)

-2 tribute (not worth it if you can't get duality or upstart, You want to open with it but after turn 1 its not great and will often be a dead draw)
-1 SLR (meh, id rather have an extra d prison, SLR can be dead too often...you could side it if you are really scared of blackrose heavy decks)

+1 necrovalley (just essential)
+3 Dimensional Prison (good card is good)

I ran Gravekeeper's Guard here as its is almost never a dead draw and with necrovalley it has 2400 def a soild wall to help stalling for even just a while and can be a tribute for descendant effect. It should help slow down my opponent a little too since I can remove synchros, face down, or beaters and I don't run pot of duality so this deck obviously lack speed and consistency so I thought guard should help but running 1 or 2 is questionable, is there any other reasons why he shouldn't be run here?

Hm since I dont run pot of duality, I thought sangan should be a good tech as recruiters can't search out for spy but sangan can search out for a spy, guard, gale or even other gravekeeper's below 1500 atk and add it to hand depending on situations which should help a potless deck to be more consistent. Is there any reason why he Shouldn't be ran here?

I tried running 1 spirit reaper in my previous build but I often found myself getting my spirit reaper pierced by opponent monster such as blackwing - bora the spear and isn't 2 abit too much?

For the -2 royal tribute - Wow this is interesting and it makes sense, yeah I often find it a dead draw if I don't get it first turn and due to not running pot of duality its hard for me to get it on first turn and with such a high monster count which is essential in a potless build, it's almost impossible for it to be useful. However it wins me game if I manage to draw it first turn with necrovalley so i am rather hesitant on removing it

I can't get my hands on d-prisons so yeah :(

Should I add in magical dimension in this potless build? but I would have to remove oppression.
Is gravekeeper's spear soldier good in this build?

Guard and sangan are nice tech, its just that spirit reaper is better and i didn't think anything else could be removed.

Spirit Reaper is one of the best cards of the format, both sabers and sams have trouble getting rid of it and it also allows for massive advantage plays if your opponent is open to attack. Not to mention that it baits warnings and judgments. You want to run it in 2, especially in an anti meta deck.

Royal tribute will definitely win games if you open with it but the odds of you opening with it are approximately 28% (this does not include the odds of also opening with necro valley/commandant as well) and It's going to lose you games if you dont open with it first turn, imo anyway

D Prison comes in the machina structure deck, you could get it through that?

Don't add in magical dimension (AND DON'T EVER REMOVE OPPRESSION, I Can't stress that enough) and it's not pointless, GKs are still rly good without duality :)

no spearsolider is bad :P

If you can't get your hands on prisons try this:

-1 guard

+2 reaper

-2 tribute
-1 SLR

+1 necrovalley
+1 seven tools

-1 Guard
+1 Assailant

I have found that Assailant is able to beat most cards and is very good against a lot of cards, he is particularly effective at dealing with Flamvells. Other then that I cannot help because I do not run GKs with synchros.

@Tentei um I don't run synchros cos this is an oppression gravekeeper deck, I ran gale for his awesome shrink ability :P

@thecheeseking what's your opinion on neo spacian grand mole? It's a very good card in Anti meta decks and with sangan it's searchable, able to remove synchros, face downs, mole+oppression sounds good to me and it's hard to get rid of too

i think its great, im actually trying one teched in my deck atm (it isn't Gks), i love how shi en eats it like a boss.

if you were gonna add it in here id remove guard for it though

Oh as a final note i think u shld add synchros, just because you can, you never know when u might want to synch with gale....you dont need to get the expensive ones but a few cheap ones like gaia knight, scrap archfiend and colossal would be good

Hm the only synchros this deck can access to are level 6-7, other than black rose and arcanite magician, there aren't any other level 6-7 useful synchros are there?

even if its a beatstick it can sometimes be useful, scrap archfiend and gaia knight are both vanilla beat stick synchros that are level 6-7, im not saying you should use them a lot just that you should keep them in there in case u ever need them

for example they can both run over stardust, also they are both cheap.

After testing with various matchups, I came to finalize to this build for a PoDless Gravekeeper's. Without PoD, Gravekeeper's lacks consistency, speed, flexibility so a PoDless Gravekeeper's build needs more defensive cards. I removed Royal Tribute, added in Dimensional Prison and Effect Veilers. Effect Veilers worked so well for me no matter what matchups I went against, effect Veilers won me so many games that I consider it one of the key cards in my build.

Monsters: 18

3X Gravekeeper's Spy
3X Gravekeeper's Descendant
3X Gravekeeper's Recruiter
3X Gravekeeper's Commandant
1X Gravekeeper's Assailant
1X Gravekeeper's Guard
1X Sangan
1X Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind
2X Effect Veiler

Spells: 10

3X Necrovalley
2X Gravekeeper's Stele
2X Mystical Space Typhoon
1X Book of Moon
1X Dark Hole
1X Allure of Darkness

Traps: 12

2X Bottomless Trap Hole
2X Solemn Warning
2X Dimensional Prison
1X Royal Oppression
1X Solemn Judgment
1X Mirror Force
1X Torrential Tribute
1X Compulsory Evacuation Device
1X Seven Tools of the Bandit

What's your opinion on this? This deck obviously lacks draw power despite the recruiter descendant cycle, so I think the d.prisons, Effect Veilers slows the opponent down and that makes up for the draw power issue IMO

I've never been a fan of veiler because i always draw it when i dont need it and never draw it when i do, not to mention that debunk has been released and the new priority rulings are coming in soon...both of those will make veiler worse. I think your better off with reaper, however if u do want veilers i suggest this

-1 guard
-1 sangan

+2 reaper

like i said before reaper is one of the best cards of the format and is just too good to ignore.

also i think you're better off with a 3rd d pris over compulory so

-1 compulsory

+1 d pris

that might be personal preference though
