Hyper's Karakuris

Post by HyperonicX » Mon Nov 14, 2011 3:52 am

I was thinking about how I would improve my own Karakuri deck.
Any tips, please?

Note: I don't have any Effect Veilers or TKR's at the moment. Working on them, but it's gonna take a long time. Also, I can't afford any expensive cards, like Steelswarm Roach, or... THAT $200+ card which I do not speak of.

Monsters (17)

3 Karakuri Komachi mdl 224 "Ninishi"
3 Karakuri Merchant mdl 117 "Inashichi"
1 Karakuri Soldier mdl 236 "Nisamu"
2 Karakuri Ninja mdl 919 "Kuick"
3 Karakuri Strategist mdl 248 "Nishipachi"
1 Karakuri Watchdog mdl 313 "Saizan"
1 Karakuri Muso mdl 818 "Haipa"
1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
2 Cyber Dragon

Spells (16)

3 Karakuri Cash Cache
2 Instant Fusion (I'd add a third, but I don't have a second Cyber Saurus.)
3 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Pot of Duality/Upstart Goblin (either or)
1 Dark Hole
1 Limiter Removal
1 Book of Moon
1 Pot of Avarice
1 Heavy Storm
1 Monster Reborn

Traps (7)
2 Threatening Roar
1 Mirror Force
1 Trap Dustshoot
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Starlight Road

Extra (15)

1 Ally of Justice Decisive Armor
1 Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1 Red Dragon Archfiend
2 Stardust Dragon
2 Karakuri Shogun mdl 00X "Bureido"
2 Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 "Burei"
2 Black Rose Dragon
1 Gaia Knight, Force of Earth
1 Broniac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1 Chimeratech Fortress Dragon

If my extra isn't too good, the other cards I have are:

2 Wind Up Zenmeister
1 No.39: Utopia
1 No.17 Leviathan Dragon
1 Naturia Landoise.

Landoise should be in there, definitely. It can even stop Gorz.

I'd drop 2 Strategist for another Soldier and another Ninja. Also Duality over Upstart. Can you get 2 Warning ? If yes, drop the 2 T-Roar for them. If no, drop the 2 T-Roar for 2 Bottomless.

So, overall:

-2 Nishipachi
+1 Nisamu
+1 Kuick

-2 T-Roar
+2 Warning/Bottomless

You may try messing around with Wind-Up Zenmaister to use his abilities to Normal Summon your weak Karakuris for their effects and leave them face-down to have their attacks prevented and have your life points protected. The major problem I have though is that my deck is running lvl 3 tuner heavy, which is why I run 2 Cyber Dragons to summon "Burreido." But if you run this decklist, it is better to leave Zenmaister out due to Dead Space in the Extra Deck.

Of course, with my deck, I try to take advantage of "Burei" and "Bureido's" Summoning and Draw Combos (along with Showdown Castle) to establish an iron wall of ATK and Defensive abilities. If push comes to shove, and my line gets wiped out by Mirror Force, Torrential, etc, I can Overload Fuse my Karakuris with Cyber Dragon to get Overdragon and send Showdown to the Grave to retrieve the Karakuris that I left in my Graveyard.

I'm sure that you are aware that it is extremely difficult to explain every combo that can arise from Karakuri Decks, or any other developed arch-type decks for that matter, but the sheer force that can erupt from this deck is something that no one wants to overlook. There are so many tricks that are hidden in this deck that I would love to try this deck if only I had the cards any money to test this deck and make adjustments from my experience!

But I would consider 2 Pots of Duality over Upstart due to the variety that you can choose from when you are in need of a certain card though. Great Build overall!

Using certain cards require guts, some require strategy,
and the rest make you kick, scream, and fight like hell.

Mostly because those cards are expensive, and Soldier is a good budgety alternative.

Even Jeff Jones, who had access to Maxx "C" and Neutron used them.

I do like Nispiachi, especially since I can use his ability to net me another card when I summon Buerido.

I don't have Warning yet, so I'll switch to Bottomless. But I'll see what I can do next time I get my allowance. (I do have around $100 or so, but I'm saving that for Skyward Sword)

Anyway, I made the changes you suggested. I also took out Gaia Knight for Landoise.

It's simple. As PT mentioned, they are too expensive, and I'm a budgety player.

I never really understood what the cards meant by detatching. I thought you send the detached cards to the graveyard. I don't understand Xyz monsters tbqh.

Yeah. That's what I'm thinking. With the whole switching cards from my other decks that PT mentioned, I can easily do this.

And thanks for the compliment. I just edited the budget deck cause I didn't have all the cards, (I.e. 1 Cyber Saurus) and added in Cyber Dragons instead of 1 Instant Fusion, which I actually have a few of.

Thanks for all the help guys!

And Desmond Boyd topped a YCS running T.G. Cyber Magician and Scrap Archfiend in his side deck. Just because one person has success with/without 1 particular card doesn't determine it's overall value.

Soldier sets up Trish plays and is a solid opening play when you don't open Neutron or Naturia Beast.

Nice.

That's good to know. Pity I don't have either of those 2. (Neutron or Beast, I mean)

Don't play this deck if you can't get a Naturia Beast.
Literally, Naturia Beast is what makes this deck playable.

It's only $15-20 anyway, and not especially hard to come by.

I'll see what I can do. It's not gonna be easy, but I'll manage somehow.

EDIT: At first glance, it doesn't look too promising, HOWEVER!!! By reading one of the other topics (Pinepple's return), I understood why it's good.
