Looks like DN is rather bandwith-heavy. I can't be all willy nilly with mines. That musical intro already took an unexpected chunk. And I can't turn it off . . .

So, how many MBs is spent on average per duel?

You can turn off the intro music, there should be a mute icon somewhere on the page. As for data
usage I have no idea. What kind of internet do you have that you have to count data?

Also should probably move this to the online area, very off topic now.

Probably in the Dueling Online section.

Edit: and I don't mind you guys being too off-toipic, as you just came back, Schy, and it's cool with me.

Oh, okay Star.

So just to answer Loki . . .

I use mobile broadband with pre-paid data. My current package cost about $15 for 3GB. The best deal I can get is about $180 for 120GB ( = $1,5 per GB)
What you and most others are probably using is a fixed-line DSL uncapped* connection. Over here, we have one company that's had a monopoly over fixed line telecommunications for like, forever.
With no real competition, they pretty much dictate all communication costs in our country. And they refuse to offer a naked DSL option; if you want fixed-line internet, you HAVE TO pay for a phone line as well, even if you are never going to use it.

So, the cost breakdown for me would be something like:
- DSL line installation @ about $70 once-off
- DSL 2Mb/s line rental @ about $16 per month
- phone line rental @ about $16 per month
- uncapped* data @ $20 per month

That's just over $52 a month. In the long run, it WOULD be cheaper than mobile broadband, but only if I download tons of stuff, watch a lot of You-Tube videos, do a lot of media streaming, etc. And that's not me. I'm fine with 100MB a day. 500MB if I'm really pushing it, which could cost as little as 75cents on mobile vs $1,70 per day for DSL.
So DSL is simply not practical and way too expensive for me. And it's all on contract as well.

tl;dr

Duel Network may be a bit too costly for me. I will probably have to do a test duel to determine data usage per duel and decide from there

That's right. I'm over in South Africa. And here's what Wikipedia has to say. no lie:

"...relative to developed markets, ADSL prices in South Africa still remain among the highest in the world..."

lucky me, eh
