Are the Red Sox some kind of cricket team?

It's the one where you build a base around a ball.

Is there actually a team called The Beards?

Building a base around a ball doesn't seem very entertaining.

But they get scored on looks and how many things they can chuck on it. I think that would be fun to watch.

I've just about got my head around NFL but I don't think I'll ever understand baseball.

Also obligatory comment about it being called the World Series when only American teams are in it

Canadian teams also have the option to make it into the world series. What more do ya want?

Yes. I cant stand this. Americans do this with every sport. Whenever an American team wins a championship, they always call them world champions, even though every team is American excpet maybe a couple Canadian teams. I find it so dumb

Probobly because in every sport that Americans do that, that is because those teams are by and far without a doubt the best team in the entire world. Your going to tell me that there is a team outside of the NBA that was better than the Miami Heat in 2013? What about for baseball or football? Such American sports are on such a different level that it isn't even worth considering the other teams in the world. Want proof? Where do american players(not necessarily from America, but those that play in American Leagues) go when they are not good enough to be in the American leagues? They go to Europe for basketball, or Japan or Thailand for Baseball. And their absolute best players come here to play in america. That is why American Champions are World Champions.

Yes, we do know that. Example? Olympics. Yes, baseball can have struggles, but that is because there are many different nationalities playing in the MLB. Without a doubt, the best players of baseball, football, and basketball, play in America.

You raising the issue of soccer causes me to yet again remind everyone that the only American popular sport that claims "World Champions" is baseball. That sport is played at the highest level in the world in America. All the other sports in America only claim to be national champions, however, in many cases, they can also be considered World Champions due to their level of play. While this is not the case with soccer or table tennis, it is true for sports such as basketball or football
