Solemn Warning, Compulsory, PWWB, Mist Wurm, etc. There's more ways to get rid of it than things it's immune to honestly.

You know, I asked myself this same question after I got a copy of RND myself.

There are plenty of ways to take him down with ONE card. As mentioned above, any card that returns him to the hand will put him back in the Extra Deck.

Also, any card that sends him from the field to the removed from play pile will work.

And if you can get him to go to sleep (Book of Moon, Darkness Aproaches, Tsukiyomi, etc), you can destroy him while he's facedown (Nobleman of Crossout, D.D Traphole, etc) and even if that effect flips him face-up first, like Acid Trap Hole, and the like.

Player One: "I attack you with my 5500 attack Red Nova Dragon!"

Player Two: "Ok, I activate D. Prison"

That card is worthless 90% of the time since most Spells/Traps don't target these days.

When you have a deck dedicated to red nova dragon the only things you are afraid of are effects that target mostly.
D prison, compulsory, book of moon, effect veiler, forbidden chalice, mist wurm, brionac all target to name a few.
The only thing I can think of that can stop a red nova covered by dark illusion that is used in today's meta is trishula really.

Hmm... when you say that, it is quite true.

Then again, your deck need to be able to use Dark Illusion not only when Red Nova is around.
