The "Rate My Artwork" Thread (Also a Help Thread)

Post by Marceline » Wed Jan 06, 2016 7:51 pm

So, I made this thread for people who like to delve in the graphic/art designs like me! :P

The Rules:

This is a place for people that want to show off their works and ask for ratings/praise/criticism or ask for help with a current project they are working on. This is to promote your own artistic skills and/or also be a resource for others as well. Whether it be fonts, renders, and resource materials, or if you need help with something more advanced like animations, tools, etc.

Do keep in mind though, this IS NOT a place to buy, sell, or download art, tools, or software. And everything on this thread has to follow the general rules of this public forum and meet the Terms and Policies you agreed to when you made a forum account here. Otherwise this thread could possibly be locked by the forum admins. (Or I could ask them myself to lock it in case of dire emergency of where I can't control it.)

Anyways, this thread is totally just for fun. So I want this thread to be that way and have a good enviroment for the artistic minds of the forum. Whether you are audience viewing the art, or the brilliant mind behind it. <3

Now to start things off...

My avatar is not of my own creation (credit to MysticJhn) as I'm not at all knowledgeable of the animation department.

I am however the creator of my signature. I was wondering if I could ask for a rating/criticism for it. Its not perfect in the least, but I just need more practice.

I was originally going to use a Harpie Harpist (flipped horizontally) instead of Queen Dragun Djinn...but I never could find a Harpie Harpist render I could use...so I just used my favorite female non-Harpie xD

The sig looks great, marce.

I also made my own sig, and I've been making a few other things in gimp too.

Yours looks great Wallace! :O
I don't think I could compete with that, my graphic art skills are kind of mediocre XD

I'm not very good with animation, my current signature is one of my first attempts at it with just a few frames.
Havent done any graphics work in a while because I dont come here often anymore and dont run the sig shop, but here is an example of one of my favorite signatures,

I recently got a gif editor app (it's called 'Gif Edit & Maker', I totally recommend it.) and a photo editing app (PicsArt, really good, 10/10) on my phone, so I've been messing around with a few edits for iFunny posts.
Here they are:

(They take a while to load, but once they play through once, they're fine.)
The most fun one to make was the thank you gif for the comment. I learned how to loop and extend movements by copying frames so that Dr. Barty would talk longer.
I'm thinking about doing some more custom animations, because it's really getting fun.

If this includes artwork that isn't digital, I might want to post some irl drawings sometime. I haven't drawn in a long time but still have some work I did back in high school.

Of course it does!! :P
I'd love to see it <3
I draw, but I'm nowhere near good. My anime art looks like stick people.

Looks sweet. Did you make that background? If so, what did you do to make it?

I didn't techinically make the background, I got a wallpaper of the net, then cropped and resized it.
I done the renders myself however and also used Daemonesque font. :p

Nvm, I figured it out.

Nice renders, very clean. And that font does look cool.

So I just went in and used that idea, and learned how to make a perfect circle in gimp, yay, and made this:
Image
I might make it into a background for a sig later in the future. Or I might do that right now. Idk.
