Barrier Statues

Postby MysticJhn » Tue Aug 30, 2011 7:58 pm

Alright, so they are mockable to actually use in a Deck, but I feel like discussing them anyway.

Ignoring the fact that any combination of two of them will deny all Special Summons, which is the best?

Which individual Barrier Statue uses an Attribute that your opponent is the least likely to Special Summon?

Fire, probably. Maybe water, now that Frognarchs died.

Really?

Have you ever played it and your opponent died laughing?
Does it cause a lot of default victories due to dead people being unble to continue playing?

I have to agree with Rog, fire and water bowe but aren't jurracsgetting a boost with ragia in a little bit. Water its least likely to be seen IMO

Stormwinds seems like it is a fairly good option.

Neither player can Special Summon WIND monsters and all face-up WIND monsters lose 500 ATK.

No, most of the victories are due to their JD/BLS/DAD/Sorc/Synchros being completely dead. I also run 2 Swords and 2 Fiendish Chain, so keeping him on the field is a bit easier.

So then, a good way to troll people these days would be to make a WATER themed Deck and run Barrier Statue of the Torrent?

Maybe I should finally get to work on that Number 17: Leviathan Dragon Deck I thought about ages ago. :D

You could probably tech it into ALO decks.

Back when Xyz Monsters were new and pretty much the only thing known was Utopia and Leviathan Dragon and people were complaining about them being terrible, I wrote down a rough outline of a Number 17 Deck I wanted to make.

I'll have to look it up and see if I can find it, but I think it had something to do with Leviathan Dragon being used as a beater while Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 kept attacking directly.

EDIT:

lol, Sweet, I found it, and the Barrier Statues work perfectly for it since they are Level 4 and the Leviathan Dragon Deck I outlined involves taking Level 4 monsters under the effects of ALO and turning them into Level 3s. :)

A Legendary Dragon Deck
ALO
Revise Dragon
Amphibious Bugroth MK-3
Gravity Bind
Hydrogeddon
Mother Grizzly
A lot of Level 4 WATER monsters

lol, That was it, except for Leviathan Dragon's name change since then.

that's going to anger lots of people with you poking under GB. Gonna suck when heavy storm comes to the field so be ready, what are your other monsters and stuff? I want to compare to Rognarrs wind one.

Lol, best part about that is that Hydrogeddon gives you access to Evolkaiser Ragia. xD

Not when legendary ocean is on the field tho, or torrent. But it is a nice option when those key cards are missing.
