Alright, now that the series is over, what did you think of Korra in total?

Characters: 8/10. There were a few stinkers, but in general this series had great characters.
Varrick is easily one of my favorite characters of this or any series, clearly the best thing to come out of Book 2.

Pacing: 5/10. If Korra had an Achille's heel, it was pacing. It would always run smooth until the individual book finales, and then they felt a bit rushed. Book 1 suffered this the worst, although to be fair the series wasn't originally planned beyond Book 1 initially.

Plot: 7/10. Book 1 was very good, and would have been fine if Korra really was the stand-alone Book it was originally intended. Book 2 was clearly the weak link, and the giant spirit monster battle at the end was lame. Book 3 and 4 were pretty well thought out and done well, with some righteous finales.

In Total: 8/10. Not a perfect show between UnaVatu and the forced romances, but I really enjoyed myself through any possible complaint. It's hard to compare to The Last Airbender, as that did this all first, and was an excellent benchmark, but this series hold's it's own with a different feel to it. It's certainly not the copy and paste job it could have been.

Some of the fandom was right for once....

I think the series was great, Book 1 was alright, but I really liked 2,3, and 4 the best. 3 was amazing and I feel that it had the most action. 4 was good too, it had a lot of interesting parts.

I know, right?
When they got t that last scene and Korra and Asami
started talking after Asami chased off Tenzin, I was thinking
it was just the standard "That was a crazy adventure, but glad it all worked out"
speech, and I did get that.
Then they hugged, and considering they were alone, I thought, "Here we go, more
fodder for KorrAsami fans."
Then they started talking about going on vacation, then walked off alone, and held
hands, and at that point it's like, okay, that's still friendly things, but that's awfully close...
Then they gave each other that gaze when entering the spirit portal and and I nearly flew out of my seat!
"HOLY ****! KORRASAMI IS CANON!"
I literally flung my arms in the air and had to bite my lip to stop from going crazy so
I didn't wake anyone else in my house. Like I said in my first post, it was just about 4 am.
I NEVER expected them to do more than tease fans, but that was amazing.
I am STILL fanboying over that ending.
The scene before that with Korra and Mako made me go, "Oh no, are they going to shove them
back together last minute?" That would have been terrible.
I also thought for a moment Korra was going to allow Wu to have one dance just for laughs.
But when they went full on KorrAsami on me, I nearly exploded!
Good job on the essay in that spoiler. How long did it take you to type that?
I had no idea Korra and Asami would actually be a thing lol. Guess Konietzko and Di Martino wanted to spice things up huh?
Wow, a surprisingly positive article.
I expected any article about a bisexual avatar to be "pushing the boundaries too far" or some other conservative nonsense.
However, this article actually seemed to know what they were talking about and was very positive. A surprise.

Let's be honest, their relationship has had the most natural flow to it.
Also, am I a prophet with this series or what? :D
MysticJhn wrote:As friendly as they were in Book 3, Korra/Asami would be more realistic at this point.
Oddly enough, their relationship has developed and bloomed more naturally with no awkwardness.
The've gotten closer more smoothly and Asami was the only person Korra contacted while recovering.
Way back on Page 28!

It's like I am on the same wavelength as the writers and they are doing the kind of show I'd be making if I was a creator. 8)

I still find it funny what they said about Nick not showing it on TV anymore.

Korra and both Avatar series deserve better than Nickelodeon.
Nick owns gold with the Avatar series and they spend that gold on Spongebob Whoopie Cushions.
They could pimp the heck out of the Avatar series with videogames, toys, clothing, figures, etc., but they fail.
It makes me wonder how these companies got so big when they are so bad at marketing.

If Japan can sell otaku all these figuringes based off bad moe anime, SURELY Nick could have sold Korra action figures.
I mean, I can go online right now and buy DC Comic pin up girl figures, but not one action figure of Azula.
Cartoon Network isn't really any better with their properties either, but they at least try (although usually they try with DC Comics properties anyway).

Korra has a videogame now, but it's mediocre with clunky controls.
I believe the original series had a videogame too, but it was also rather bad.
Where was the Pro Bending game back in Book 1?
Know what they had on their website? A cheap flash game that was almost Rock, Paper, Scissors level of play
that didn't even have any actual characters from the show in it (as far as I remember).
Oh, I did manage to download the Pro Bending rulebook PDF... joy. :P

Seriously, if Nick really wanted Korra to succeed, they didn't show it.
Joke's on Nick. It's being hailed as a milestone of animation and a very progressive show anyway, despite their efforts to squash it.
The licensing rights for both series could be up there with Frozen and Hello Kitty if they wanted it to.
Do you know how much those PVC 1/8 scale statues of anime figures go for? They ain't cheap.
I would love to own the rights to making Korra figures, I could retire by 40.

Yeah, Nick didn't do well with Korra, but I can't imagine it on any other channel. I'm pissed at CN and Nick as well, CN has gotten worse and worse. I've already stated that I don't have cable, but I don't feel the need for it, since I do have the internet. Nicktoons already took ZEXAL and the original which I'm still angry about. CN took 5D's as well back in '09, and if they show ARC V in the US, it'll be on CN or Nicktoons. Ever since Vortexx ended, my Saturday's haven't been the same. No more watching Sonic or DBZ or ZEXAL. Okay I'm done ranting now :P. Anyways, I wonder what Di Martino and Konietzko plan to do now. Maybe they'll make a Korra movie, and hope Shylaman won't be involved this time..

Maybe they make a whole new series.

I would love to see them start with a fresh new concept, but sadly that show would forever be compared to Avatar and either never get it's full due credit as a series reguardless of how good it was, or just not be as good and be a disappoitment to Avatar fans.
Unfortunately for them, they created a benchmark right away, so they've created their own impossible hurdle.
Whatever they create next has to be the new benchmark for animation or else it'll flop.

I saw Book 3 out on DVD at Target. I wanted to get it soooo bad! They might be making a box set of all 4 books, so, might wait on that.
