Double trouble; two regionals, one weekend!

Post by #SparksForGame » Thu May 05, 2016 11:19 am

Guess who's back doing another regional report :D Well, I've not played in any regionals this season and I thought that I'd enter late to the party, the party that is qualification for Euro's! Taking my humble Yosenju's to Aylesbury and Bexleyheath, attempting to fight against Monarchs, Kozmo and Burning Abyss! Surprise surprise, I played against NO Burning Abyss decks over the two days! I did play against Galaxy however, but we'll get to that later in the report :D

The last time I was at Aylesbury for a regional, I was judging it! I was the least professional judge there, falling asleep because of slow play and itching to trade, this time I would be playing and trading...in a cramped shop, no space to move without forcing people out of the way, not ideal to my trading antics!

I finished this regional 3-1-3 with a warning for accidental cheating >.> Neither myself or my opponent noticed that I played Pot of Duality in the same turn that I went double Gagaga Cowboy for game, the results slip was signed by all parties (players and floor judge), and I had only noticed when I was able to scoop up my cards after two minutes of sitting there... oops :D
I drew against Monarchs in the 1st round, beat Kozmo and Monarchs in the second and third, before playing against three more Monarchs and finishing with Kozmo. I was falling asleep towards the end of the 6th round and during my opponent's turn in the 7th - I had no sleep during the night, was packing my bags for the weekend away, sorting out binders and doing other things, not even sleeping on the train XD

Bexleyheath on the Sunday was better, more spacious and I was wide awake :D Trolling the head-judge with a ruling question from last year, when he initially got it wrong before correcting himself. Played Yosenju's again, was happy to keep with the same deck and went 4-3 - finishing 27th out of 75, coming that close to qualifications for Euro's.
1st round was against Galaxy, against a kid who hadn't played in a regionals before, and I was happy to let him win 2-1 because I'm a good guy :D Played against Monarchs, poorly built Fire Fist, mish-mash and Kozmo. I was more happy that I was able to have my own trading/dueling table because there was space and I had a stack of binders - my own personal office, it was great :D
There was another Yosenju player there, I did better than him (he went 3-4)

As to the build of Yosenju I had, it was quite different to what I had previously used, a different build that I love more than my "fudge you, mega floodgate.city, deck)
3x Yosenju Kama 1
3x Yosenju Kama 2
3x Yosenju Kama 3

Overall, I really enjoyed testing a new build of Yosenju and the changes I've made for SHVI, I should be able to do well at the next regional I'm at - Huddersfield, May 14th (wasn't planning on going but a friend is paying my train fare!)
I'll be posting my updated Yosenju build when I get the time, as I'm getting ready for work/killing time XD

See, some constructive posts, not some asswankery from a dickhead whom has topped major events :)

Haha fair enough, I just added a Raigeki into the build to make it 40. Sorry again for what I said in the other thread.

Edit: The extra deck is also only 14 cards.
