Trump vs Clinton

Post by Wallaceman105 » Fri May 06, 2016 9:40 am

God no, why, why, WHY?!
Sanders needs to win every remaining primary to get in.
That's not happening.
However, Clinton may be called to give a deposition, and then testimony, for the lawsuit about her emails. If she gets charged, she'll have to drop out.
Then we'll likely get Bernie back.

But there's no stopping Trump now on the Republican side.

If Clinton wins the Democrats, I'm just done with america. Not even joking, I'm getting out of here as soon as I possibly can.

Numerous reasons, people who are misinformed about numbers think Sanders can't beat Trump if elected, many people fear ISIS and other terrorist organisations and find it easier to cover up the fact it is a difficult long term issue and instead want someone like Trump to wave a magic wand of bombs over it and make everything ok, etc

Politics aren't a no no subject.
Raw, unbridled argument without logical debate, as these discussions tend to go, are what's a no no.
Just because I know how these topics have gone in the past, I'm giving a clear warning right now.
Keep it civilized.
You can bash the politcal parties or the candidates (within the forum rules anyway).
Not one another.
This will be locked first offense, again, purely based on past experience with political and controversial threads.

It's not the same as the Trump campaign obviously, but over here in the UK we have our own racist party (UKIP, one of many) that seems to get votes based on the fact that 'they are different', and Nigel Farrage, the leader is a 'normal bloke' that drinks in a pub, smokes and has numerous other toxic hobbies that make him relatable, despite being a middle aged well off white man trying to appeal to a variety of working class backgrounds. Indeed, most of their voters either haven't seen their policies or don't agree with them, but want a 'change' in politics and various other vague phrases that mean nothing (make America great again) as they view politics more than a personality quiz than anything else.

In America, it is slightly different in that people tunnel vision on migration issues and due to their self entitlement earning a comfortable lifestyle simply by being born in the country, fail to tell the difference between a hijab and a rocket launcher on a muslim, and why everyone else can't take refugees when neighbouring countries to Syria like Lebanon and empathetic ones like Germany are overflowing with migrants at the moment. Politics based on fear is very, very effective. The average American citizen will find it difficult to engage with political issues and grasp economic concepts, therefore causing this personality based politics.

Dont understand that refernence, someone please explain. Sounds like something from a clockwork orange or something.

Anyways i agree, out of trump vs. Clinton, i pick legitametly anyone else.

I promise you clinton will not be in legal trouble tho. The people in power in america want clinton to be president. They will do all they can to make this so. I find it highly unlikely that she wont be president. She also has the backing of almost all major news companies

Lol this reminds me of those trump supporters who hate immigration but want to leave the country if Hilary gets in

Also Hilary is trash but like, a million times less awful than Trump

And that is the legitimate problem.
Due to the party structure, you have a choice between the Satan or Cthulhu.
The only benefit this race might have is a possible third party.
The GOP is currently so divided on backing Trump, a lot of political experts seem to think it could cause the party to split.
I agree, and don't expect the Republican party to survive as is, either splitting before the general election or just after it.

Personally, as of right now, since New Jersey allows for write-in votes, I will be voting for my brother-in-law.
He's 40 and a natural born citizen, so that makes him at least as qualified as either Clinton or Trump.
In addition, he's neither a raging... word I cannot say here... nor a filthy, untrustworthy sleeze.

I ha- *ahem*. Excuse me. STRONGLY DISLIKE Clinton much more than Trump, but as I am sure everyone else here knows, she is probably going to make a better president than Trump would, sadly. I wish Sanders were able to win but superdelegates exist just to prevent people like him from winning primiaries. The country isn't a Democrary, it's an Oligarchy.

Both parties are as fragile as a young man's buttocks in a prison shower.
GOP has gone from conservative, respectable men to raving lunatics and religious zealots.

DNC has gone from progressive, humanitarian liberals to sold-out suits with painted smiles.

As an American, nothing would make me prouder or happier than to see these two shed their dead weight of stupidity and corruption and be reborn into cleaner, New parties. The 2-party system has been broken so much for so long, it left a psychopathic fringe candidate like Trump to rise up. It's been so complacent for so long that someone as corrupt as Clinton could masquerade as a progressive and waltz is right into hell.

That's American politics for you.
We've been stuck with the same two political partis for so long, you have
entire generations of people raised in Republican or Democrat households
that have been raised to think one way and don't know any other way.
People will probably defend their choice of party stronger than their own religion or family.
At the same time, the views of each party over time have skewed so far from the middle
that they are practically charicatures of themselves and nobody can be in the middle anymore.
They don't know how to change and are stubbornly against it.
Hillary Clinton gets her votes that way because her strongest competetor is viewed as the dirty word of American politics; "socialist".
Bernie Sanders actually considers human beings over corporations, and that scares those in charge.
Hillary is more of a politician's politician, and so even with her email scandle where you shouldn't
trust her as far as you can throw her, and knowing she couldn't even succeed as Secretary of State, nevermind President,
she gets a pass because she is that old fashioned political standard who they can puppet along.
Donald Trump is getting in because he's a celebrity and is very good at playing the game.
He says the crazy, insane things that no intelligent person should ever listen to, and if a regular politician said them,
they'd have lost the race long ago before it became an issue.
However, since he is Donald Trump, billionaire and celebrity, he's been playing the media circus like a Stradivarius
in the London Philharmonia Orchestra.
Any time he says something outrageous, he gets ALL the media coverage and everyone else might get a blurb.
Personally, he had the media so focused on his race, I at one point couldn't even name any Democratic candidates besides Hillary.
He's big, loud, obnoxious, and keeps things focused on him at all times.
At the same time, stupid people desperate for change look at him, think, "He's not a standard politician, not those liars
and thieves we have in power now," and vote for him in droves.
Their main reasoning is always, "he's different" and "he's a successful business man."
He's not really a successful businessman, though. Most his wealth are things his father handed him,
and he'll slap his name on anything and everything.
However, American politics are in such a bad shape, people will vote for him just to not vote for anyone else.
Never underestimate the strength of the stupid masses.
As for a third party candidate, well, in the United States it's become nearly impossible for that to happen anymore.
The Republicans and Democrats have such control over things, the laws and costs of launching a third party are extremely prohibitive.
Even trying to become a nationally known write-in cadidate is impossible because not all the states allow write-ins.
The established parties are in the back pocket of major corporations, and they really don't favor doing things differently.
You need MASSIVE amounts of money supporting you to even get on the ballot in most states.
With Republicans and Democrats with such firm control, a third party might not even be recognized by the state to be put on a ballot.
Unless there's a major break of either party, you'll never see a new successful party.
That might be the only legitimate benefit of Trump winning the Republican nomination.
Enough people in the party DON'T want him to represent them, it might finally be an issue that causes a split giving us a new party.
I can only hope that happens now, although a split Republican party gives Hillary Clinton the advantage.
