Reaper has 2 uses, marshmellon has one. Reaper's discard effect trumps its inability to be destroyed in battle, anyways. Its not hard to keep an enemy's field empty for 1 or two turns. Especially if you get card advantage out of doing it.

hmm good point. so the discard effect overrides its incapability to survive effects. just confirming.

any card that targets reaper actually, but, yes spirit reaper can be of more use, depends on wether you have an aggressive gameplay or a stall defensive one... SR and marsh would help respectively

Plus enemy would waste resources trying to get rid of Reaper.
If it is Marshmallon, the opponent will just brush it off and set the field up for 2 Librarian, 1 Shooting Quasar while you hide behind a man-eating marshmallow. =D

Plus he's targetable by debries dragon. Another reason why you would want a level 3 reaper over a level 4 marshmellon.

Marshmellon is cool, but reaper is generally slightly more flexable in that he can pick apart their hand as well as a be a wall. Situation is rare, but still there.

Spirit reaper is easy as hell to kill and I have much more trouble against a duelist who uses the Marshmellon

Reaper is much better than Marshmallon, hands down.

The discarding effect really makes up for it, and it makes people waste stupid things on him.

Also, I once won a duel because my opponent had to discard 3 cards from his hand in 2 turns due to multiple Reaper. There is no coming back from that.

Marshmellon is LV 3.
OT: Reaper is generally better because it can knock cards out of hand, while Marshmellon can only do burn damage.
And it's Semi-limited, and better if you like field clearing (like scraps, sabers, etc.)

First off....Spirit Reaper isn't killed by Book of Moon. It ends up facedown when Book resolves, so Reaper's effect won't resolve to kill it. Secondly, I'm with what pretty much everyone else is saying. Reaper is better for that occasional -1 to your opponent's hand. It's a Debris target(my personal favorite since I run plants) and it's a wall.

i see i see :D
i didnt know that reaper doesnt die by book. i thought that if its targeted by anything it just dies right away. tys cause i have both marshy and reaper and i cant rly decide which one to use. im making a fairy deck, so i gotta consider the marshmellon, cause i can search it. definately a hard choice (for me)
