Powerful plants?

Post by JhonnyCees » Thu Aug 25, 2011 4:36 pm

So I am returning to Yugioh after 6 years and I can't figure out why plants are so strong now. It seems like every deck is something combined with plants (doppel/plants, tengu/plants). I am definantly missing something, what is it about the plants that makes them so popular in todays meta??

Lonefire Blossom is arguably the best searcher in the game.
Dandylion is simply broken.
Debris Dragon is also broken, but mostly because he magnifies the brokeness of Dandylion ten-fold.
Glow-Up Bulb causes silly shenanigans.
Spore causes even more silly shenanigans.
Not that relevant now that Lonefire is limited, but when Lonefire could be run in multiples Tytannial, Princess of Camellias was quite possibly the most easily-summoned beatstick in the game.

Dandylion is simply broken. I am guessing because of its use for syncro summoning
Debris Dragon is also broken, but mostly because he magnifies the brokeness of Dandylion ten-fold. I am guessing for the summon of any level 8 dragon
Glow-Up Bulb causes silly shenanigans.
Spore causes even more silly shenanigans.
Definatly agree

Alright I think that clears things up thanks.. and bighobbit I think spammabilty is when you play multiple copies of a card and use them over and over against your opponent but I dont know what splashability is. Could you explain please?

The Plant Engine (2 Lonefire, 1 Dandy, 1 Glow-Up Bulb and 1 Spore) could be used in multiple decks to almost automatically make them better. That's splashability.

Also, Debris + Dandy is broken because of one card Black Rose nuke, followed by tokens.

Don't bother, Lonefire just got limited to 1, severly hampering the engine. That and Formula Synchron to 1, Avarice to 1 and Librarian to 1.

So does that mean that plants are leaving the meta now?

Not really, because Tour Guide searches Sangan which searches Lonefire. And you can somewhat dodge the loss of the other cards.

They won't be as powerful as before, but they won't disappear. Also, I assumed you don't have $600 to buy 3 Tour Guides, or $60 for a Glow-Up Bulb, and so on and so forth.

This is true Iwon't be buying a tour guide anytime soon, or a glow-up bulb. Anyways interesting information about plants thanks a blossom

Plants is still good and up there as a pretty good top tiered deck

As for why plants is good, dude tere is a reason why we call plants having over 9000 variants

Arguably Yusei Junk Dopple Plants is the best lol
Dark Strike Fighter should be Unbanned. Its useless/sarcasm
