What happened to the good old days?

Post by TDR14 » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:29 pm

I miss the days where my opponents were actually scared of the monsters I summoned(3 blue eyes white dragons/Obelisk), now all I feel is that they've become laughing stocks. Whatever happened to Absolute Power and brining out the strongest monster you got people? These days I feel like I can barely make a move in a duel :(

It's been replaced by the days of every Deck being designed to have a million effects and Special Summon swarms every turn and if you're not ready to win the duel on your second turn, you're nothing.

I miss those days. That and now it isn't a card game it is an investment. Everyone and their brothers want the same cards and that makes it tough to compete. A good player can still make a monster scary to face though :divine:

That's what happens when it stopped being a children's card game.
I started back at the beggenings and it was just friends and most everyone was honest. NOw you can't go to a card shop without someone trying to rip you off.
seondly like i said it is an investment not a card game

I should quit, but it keeps dragging me back in.

Makes me think of smoking, except it's not bad for you. Just bad for your wallet.

I most definitely do not miss those days.

And this is a player who can't afford Tour Guides/Rescue Rabbits talking.

This. It's gonna take me a couple months to get a playset of Laggias and Dolkkas for my Jurracs as it is. >.> But even as more and more expensive cards come out, I still enjoy this play style so much more than "I can summon a bigger beatstick than you."

Dang, I need Laggia and Dolkka for my Jurracs, too.

OT: I was never around for those days.

I do miss those days. They were fun.

But alas, those days are gone. And now, we have this. But at least there are a few new(ish) archtypes I like. Blackwings, Aliens and Karakuri, for example.

(Don't talk to me about those Gishki things, or Inzectors or whatever the newest archtypes are. I have NO CLUE what you're talking about.)

Oh, yeah.... this game was waaaay more fun when a single monster with high attack was a game winner. And when the level 4 monster with the highest atk is the best, same with level 6 and level 8. Now there's like... strategy needed. No fun at all.

I actually was one of the first to run 3 fissure and their ble eyes yould die soo easily :P i thought, why use 2 tributes for a 3000 atk?.. better 1 tribute for a 2500 + something else (summoned skull) then my cards were stolen :'| and im back in a whole new game, and i like it a lot more, now you have to think to win... not just attack stupidly
