Sooooo.... If so many people realize the bullsh*t that's going on in our government, why is it still like that? Why does no one do anything? I understand that the majority of americans are either absolute idiots or reasonable people tainted by the media or the actual candidates words (like my parents who really just know nothing about politics), but still so many people I've met and talked to know what's going on behind the scenes. Why has nothing happened? I'm pretty sure we could change this without some bloody revolution, no? Why do we continue to accept it? I personally guess it's because we're caught up in our personal lives and we're waiting for someone else to do it, correct? It just seems stupid. It really bothers me.
The short answer to that is that you have to get into politics to change them, and most people don't want to be politicians.
Most people are busy and more concerned with their own personal lives, making ends meet.
Those already in politics don't want to change things because they's how they wants things.
In a majority rules system, you have to sway the opinion of that majority to get change, and to do that you have to give them a good answer
to the question, "What's in it for me?"
Even your political experts on tv seemed in disbelief as it was happening, because they all got it wrong entirely.
It was like they all had to pretend to be unbiased, but what they were thinking was, "Really, America, really?!"
America is going to have a hangover tomorrow.
Honestly, if we got one good candidate, the electoral college thing shouldn't be an issue.
Although, looking at this chart of vote percentages, the highest percentage of popular votes in US election history
was Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964 with 61.05%.
Some people are blaming the voters who voted for the green party instead of Hillary, where in states like Florida it would have meant hillary winning the state. I just got roasted on FB for saying it's not their fault. Yes it was the 2% that voted for stein and not the 48% that voted for trump. Ugh. Also Harambe got 11,000 votes.... *sigh* some people I've talked to are saying Trump will be a better president. This is what i hate about politics. For many people, it doesn't matter how smart or informed they are. They only believe what they hear and what they're told by those around them/who they trust. Even if that's "Trump is better". I wish things could at least be more straightforward.
I'm just so disgusted with America rn.
