Duelist Nexus Core Booster Set
Inspired by the 5Ds arc this set includes a focus on Tuner and Synchron monsters. It also introduces a new monster type: Illusion monsters. Illusion monsters cannot be destroyed and cannot destroy other monsters in battle, but they can inflict battle damage. Instead they rely on effects to influence the board, for example Nightmare Macigican is a Illusion type monster that will entrance an opponent's monster over to your side. Illusion monsters are also bringing a rebirth to a classic Yu-Gi-Oh monster with the fusion summon, Chimera the King of Phantom Beasts.
Infernoble Knights, Altergeist, Dark World, Mikanko, Nemleria, Purrely, Rescue-ACE, Runick, Unchained, Ursarctic, and Visas Starfrost archetypes are getting support in this set. Duelist Nexus bring a new archetype Tistina, from a land that is being slowly turned to crystal. Everything the spreading plague touches turns to crystal, land and beast alike. The Crystal God Tistina lies at the center of this plague. 7 cards of the Tistina archetype are included in this set.
Duelist Nexus is the first core booster pack to include Quarter Century Secret Rares. All Ultra and Secret Rares will have a Quarter Century variant. 25 Quarter Centurty Secret Rares will be available in this set. 24 of which are the Ultra/Secert Rares from the set. The 25th will only be available in Quarter Century Secret Rare, Magicians of Bonds and Unity. Magicians of Bonds and Unity will also appear in the next 3 core booster sets as at the same rarity, but each version will have a different color background in the card art.
Duelist Nexus is slated for release on July 28th, 2023
